Quality and excellence

Quality is part of everything we do

At our university, quality is a matter for all of us. All of our employees, students and graduates, as well as partners from business, higher education and other networks leave their mark on our quality.

The University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna takes an integrative approach to quality management (QM), and our QM system covers all aspects of the university:

• Organisation structure
• Process organisation
• Project organisation

Our quality circles for teaching, research and administration, suggestion scheme and periodic idea competitions allow for continuous improvement, and also boost our innovative strength.

The university's Quality Management department is primarily responsible for the quality management system, as well as quality assurance and development.

To these ends, our employees use appropriate processes and tools. Our students also play an important role in our quality processes through regular evaluation of teaching activities, membership of the Academic Board and involvement in efforts to enhance our degree programmes.

Our quality management system undergoes voluntary external quality assurance audits, in order to obtain additional feedback on how we can improve our processes. We were the first university of applied sciences in Vienna to obtain the Excellence in Digital Education quality seal, and we also have hochschuleundfamilie (university and family) certification, which is awarded on the basis of an audit.

The Quality and HR Management department plays a central role in our quality management set-up. The department’s employees will be pleased to answer any questions related to quality and process management.
