Upon successful completion of the course students can

  • present the basic economic and transport geographic theories (1) and apply them to specific regions of the world, especially in the expansion markets that are important for the Austrian economy (especially BRIC countries, Central and Eastern Europe, Black Sea region) (3)
  • present essential developments of digitalization in the global transport and logistics segment (1)
  • explain the connection between socio-economic developments of major economic geographic regions and sustainability aspects (2)
  • to specify the development of logistics and supply chain management in the context of the dynamic development of global socio-economic processes, such as globalization (hyperglobalization, slowbalization, de-globalization) (2)
  • to explain (2), assess (4) and evaluate (5) systemic interrelationships in traffic and transport systems
  • classify these interrelationships in global, supranational, and regional economic and transport geographic frameworks (2)
