Images of humanity, the development of Human Resources, quantitative assessment of personnel requirement, staff recruiting (job adverts, job application documents, interviews, testing procedure, assessment centres, etc.), staff induction and inclusion, communication, motivation and incentive systems (Maslow's pyramid of needs, Herzberg’s two-factor theory, etc.), (fixed and variable) remuneration (cafeteria model, stock options, etc.), personnel development and staff assessment, workplace and working hours structure, the basics of payroll accounting, personnel management (management style theories), personnel layoffs (including outplacement) structural elements (positions, departments, etc.) organisational structure and process organisation (organisation chart, job description, function diagrams, etc.), organisational theory approaches (bureaucratic approach, human resources approach, etc.), organisational forms (one-line system vs. multi-line system, functional organisation, specialised organisation, matrix organisation, line-staff organisation, projector organisation), group conduct, holding structures, organisational change and change management, corporate culture, learning organisation.

Learning outcome
After successful completion of this course, students are familiar with different types of organisational structures that can be found in practice (functional organisation, specialised organisation, matrix organisation) as well as with their advantages and disadvantages and can prepare and implement personnel management decisions in companies (e.g., staff selection, staff development, staff motivation, staff release, etc.).
