Brief description
Overview about geographical aspects in terms of economy and region; macroeconomical and institutional conditions in emerging markets. Geopolitical position of emerging markets.
Political systems in emerging markets. Economic interdependence of the EU and Austria with emerging markets. Logistic, infrastructure, and conditions for investments in emerging markets from an Austrian viewpoint.
Selected country analysis. Relevance for Austria´s economic development and Austria as business location.

Learning outcome
Students possess detailed knowledge about the economic and regional-geographical, geopolitical or political conditions in emerging markets, as well as economic and political interdependencies with the EU, and Austria in particular. Based on country analysis she/he is able to analyze and evaluate investment conditions for international companies from Austria and to develop recommendations for investors.
