CREACT Preparation Workshop (before the exchange semester)
Preparation of exchange semesters for outgoing students and joint workshop with incoming students to facilitate networking and idea exchange.
Preparation: Metaphors of culture, “Me” as a cultural being, stereotypes & generalizations, cultural values, communication styles, when cultures collide (culture shock), balancing challenge and support, how to cope with the challenges

The module “Cross-Cultural Reflection & Action” lasts for three semesters and consists of the three courses: 1. CREACT Preparation Workshop (before the exchange semester) 2. CREACT Virtual Learning 3. CREACT Reflection Workshop (after the exchange semester) The module includes the following activities: - Workshops in Vienna - Webinars - Video lessons and participation in forum - Assignments

- Attendance of and active participation at (min. 70%)
- Preparation session
- All four webinars
- Reflection Session
- Completion of all online modules

Learning outcome
After successful completion of CREACT outgoing students have acquired the Global Competence Certificate and are able to:
- Bring into awareness their own characteristic way of framing/behaving in a given cultural context
- Bring into awareness how another person or group frames/behaves in a given context
- Manage their thoughts and emotions as they become aware of the nature of the cultural gap between themselves and the culturally different other
- Bridge the cultural gap by moving toward the other’s way of framing/behaving
