Business Development Project
Brief description
Definition of Business Development and its relevance for organisations; Tasks and tools of Business Development and Strategy development; Explanation and Application of Business Modell Canvas and abbreviated Business plan:
Within the framework of a project, students work in small groups to develop a business development strategy for a given company, brand or division. In addition, there are lectures and mentoring sessions, in which the students are accompanied in the development of the strategy. Goal/completion of the lecture: The students present their strategy in front of a "Board of Directors" and submit an abbreviated business plan afterwards.
Lectures include input on Business Model Development, Market analysis, Business Model Canvas, Strategy setting.

Learning outcome
After successful completion of the course, students can
- define Business Development and explain the main tasks of and tools for Business Development Management, analyse the links between Business Development and strategy, describe and explain the link between creativity and innovation and can apply basic creativity methods in their BDM project
- apply lean management strategies
- apply the Business Model Canvas to develop new business models
- conceptualize and structure a BDM project, conduct the necessary analyses, and create a BDM concept
- design an abbreviated business plan for a BDM project
- present their project tailored to their relevant target group.
